A Perfect Woman

”I am a perfect woman,
I love to sew and cook,
I like to wear suits and sarees,
And love my make-up look.”

”I am also a perfect woman,
I am the best in my profession,
My career is my bae,
And my work is my passion”.

”I am also a perfect woman,
I manage both home and work,
I don’t love social gatherings,
And people call me dork”.

”I am also a perfect woman,
I love to party all night,
I wear trendy western clothes,
That are colored too bright”.

”I am also a perfect woman,
I ride bikes and play football,
I wear pants and sport pixie cut,
And I love my tomboy look overall”

”I am also a perfect woman,
I married a guy of my dream,
I don’t want any children,
My hubby and I make a complete team.”

”I am also a perfect woman,
I have many friends, both male and female,
I am strong opinionated,
And when crossed, blow everything like a gale.”

”We all are perfect women,
In our own special ways,
There is perfection in imperfection,
And we all deserve equal praise”

There is no ‘’defining’’ woman,
There is no ‘’How I should be’’,
Let me be myself,
Let my spirit be free.

For I will rise like a Phoenix,
After every struggle I face,
I am set to conquer,
I will no longer live in a cage.

Nor can I loose my purity,
Being touched by someone willingly or forcibly,
I am a human being,
Not some sealed commodity.

I need not be a martyr
Sacrificing everything for everyone,
I have the right to live for myself,
Just like every other person.

I need not be worshipped,
Or put on a pedestal,
Just remember I am also human,
With feelings very real.

Like me for who I am,
Celebrate me without any reason,
Let me fly my wings,
And fly away in the horizon.

Harry Potter Quotes to Inspire You

Harry Potter series is an obsession for all those who have had the opportunity to read this magical series. For those who have not read it, it is difficult to understand what the hype for this wizarding world is all about. People assume that the series is for the children but believe me I am still as obsessed (maybe even more) as I was when I was a child. There is a lot to learn from this wonderful series. Here is a list of some inspiring quotes to motivate you at any stage of life and to welcome you to the world of ”Magic” :

  • For those with any kind of Inferiority Complex: Sometimes we are bothered with other’s opinion of ourselves and feel insecure about ourselves. In such case take the advice of Prof. Rubeus Hagrid gave in Goblet of Fire. “I am what I am, an’ I’m not ashamed. ‘Never be ashamed,’ my ol’ dad used ter say, ‘there’s some who’ll hold it against you, but they’re not worth botherin’ with.”

  • When Facing Difficulty in actually knowing Someone: We often face the dilemma about a person while choosing a friend, a partner or a business associate. We like to understand how a person genuinely is. A little guidance from Sirius Black in the Goblet of Fire can lead the way: “If you want to know what a man’s like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals”

  • For those who believe the despair will never end: Sometimes in life we feel the utter despair when surrounded by the darkness and refuse to believe that the happiness will find a way. The quote from Albus Dumbledore in The Prisoner of Azkaban can restore the belief: “But you know, happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”

  • When we have Bullies as friends: When our friends are the ones who bully we find it difficult to stop or discourage them in the fear of losing them or being laughed at or even bullied by them. This quote will help us to find the courage to act:“It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends.” Albus Dumbledore in The Sorcerer’s Stone. We may feel that it is easier said than done and find it very difficult to do, to them Dumbledore encourages in The Goblet of Fire : ”We must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy” So folks always do what is right for you and people around you.

  • When we wonder who we truly are : Life sometimes brings us to a stage where we are unable to understand who we truly are. Sometimes we are afraid of the bad thoughts we have, when faced with an extreme situation and sometimes we are afraid of what we can do when we are angry. Other times we often feel that the environment we are born in, the people we live with, the caste/culture we are born in will shape us and define us even if we like it or not. When facing this remember the following quotes from Harry Potter series:               1) “We’ve all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act   on. That’s who we really are.” – Sirius Black in The Prisoner of Azkaban.  2) “It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”   Albus Dumbledore in The Chamber of Secrets.   3) “It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be.” Albus Dumbledore in   Goblet of Fire.

  •     When dealing with Pain: Everyone processes the pain in different manner. Some people numb the pain as they are unable to deal with it and are afraid to open their heart and feel those feelings. As Dumbledore reminds us in Goblet of Fire : “Numbing the pain for a while will make it worse when you finally feel it.”  Other people find it difficult to express their pain as they feel it makes them weak that they are unable to handle all the pain. To them Dumbledore says in The Order of Phoenix ” Harry, suffering like this proves you are still a man! This pain is part of being human … the fact that you can feel pain like this is your greatest strength.” Then we ask what is the way to recovery Prof. Dumbledore ? ”Understanding is the first step to acceptance, and only with acceptance can there be recovery”  So while dealing with pain always remember to feel the pain, cry and let it all out, do not feel ashamed of your feelings as they make you human and understand the cause of pain, accept it and move on.Lastly, when we cry over the things we have lost in life Luna Lovegood reminds us in The Order of Phoenix : “Things we lose have a way of coming back to us in the end, if not always in the way we expect.”

  • To those who do not mince their words and thoughts : Words are mightier than swords. Some people forget that the words can hurt deep, sometimes worse than anything physical abuse can. Words also have power to heal, so one should always think before speaking As our wise Prof. Albus Dumbledore says in the Deathly Hallows  ” Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it.”  Some people are so indifferent to the feelings of others that they forget “Indifference and neglect often do much more damage than outright dislike.” (Albus Dumbledore in The Order of Pheonix.) Other people keep on hurting themselves with negative thoughts and burden themselves with lots of guilt forgetting the words of Madam Pomfrey in The Order of Phoenix ”Thoughts could leave deeper scars than almost anything else”.  So remember to be mindful of your words and thoughts both.

  • For those who live in dreamy world : A polite howler to remind you “It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.” – Albus Dumbledore in The Sorcerer’s Stone. Dumbledore also advises us to believe in our mind. Sometimes we wonder whether the things happening inside our head are not real and we doubt our sanity but as the wise man says in the Deathly Hallows : “Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?”

  • To those who are afraid of Future : Those who cannot stop worrying of what may come in the future please read : ‘’No good sittin’ worryin’ abou’ it. What’s comin’ will come, an’ we’ll meet it when it does.” Hagrid in Goblet of Fire. Get up and steel your nerves as Ginny Weasley says ”you sort of start thinking anything’s possible if you’ve got enough nerve.”

  • To those who fear the Tyrants : We often fear the tyrants and refuse to believe that anything or anyone could hurt them. We do not realize that even the tyrants have fears. If you do not believe me then I am sure you would believe Prof. Dumbledore ”Have you any idea how much tyrants fear the people they oppress? All of them realise that, one day, amongst their many victims, there is sure to be one who rises against them and strikes back!’  in The Half Blood Prince.

  • Generation Gap : It is very difficult to bridge the generation gap. When we get older we forget what it was to be young and are sometimes harsh to the younger generation on things we find inappropriate as per our thinking and experiences .Dumbledore defines it accurately : ‘’Youth cannot know how age thinks and feels. But old men are guilty, if they forget what it was to be young”

  • Quotes on Death : To conquer your fear of death last two quotes of this blog from Professor Dumbledore “It is the unknown we fear when we look upon death and darkness, nothing more.” in The Half  Blood Prince.  “To the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure.”   in The Sorcerer’s Stone.                                                                                                                                                                                      Feeling inspired ? Go read the series and those who have already read it hundred times go re-read it “And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.”  Ta Da.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Apoorva Yadav Kamboj

Why your Lovable Girlfriend has turned into an Angry Wife?

You would often smile remembering the days you spend before marriage, the unforgettable moments, the love and happiness you shared, the deep connection you had with your wife or then girlfriend. And now when you see your wife you realize there is something missing in this relationship. Your wife is not that always laughing, cheerful, romantic girl that she used to be instead she has turned into an angry, a bit resentful and sarcastic women you never could have thought that she would be. The life after few years of marriage is not at all like you had imagined. You may also resent and blame your wife for the disastrous change in her.

You have often wondered what prompted that change and you may have realized somethings or may have been left more confused than ever. Here I would love to specify few reasons that may have caused the change:

Sudden Rise in Responsibilities :   The girl you met the first time and fell in love with was very carefree and always smiling. Her world revolved around you and she always expressed the love she felt for you . After you got married she had the responsibility of not only taking care of you but also your family, relatives, social circle and these responsibilities increase ten folds after the kids. It may seem like an easy task and you may find that she manages it quite well but if she is handling them alone she may sometime need your help and support even if she never asks for it. The constant running for fulfilling the need of others may overwhelm her and she may act irritable due to lack of time she has for herself.

Lack of Appreciation : She may be the most selfless person you have ever met and very easy going person who never expects anything in return. But 1 thing that she may be yearning for is some form of appreciation and when it comes from you she will be on cloud nine. Try to remember the days you courted each other. You both appreciated even the little efforts done for each other. And now every thing she does falls under the criteria of her duties and is left unappreciated. Trust me on this,  the easiest way to gain a beautiful smile from your wife is to compliment her and this is the easiest way to resolve any argument. Compliment her often, make her realize she is appreciated, you notice her and her day to day life matters to you. Remind her how beautiful she is even when she doesn’t have time to take care of herself, tell her that you love the food she cooks for you, you like the way she cares for you and your loved ones. Ofcourse she should also be appreciative of your efforts.

Lack of Romance : Before marriage you spent ample of quality time and shared whatever you felt with each other. This romance somehow got lost in day to day life and you took each other for granted. You may have become too comfortable with her and forgotten that a women has greater emotional needs than that of a man. You may feel tired once you return home and may just want to rest which is understandable. But try and sit with your wife for just few minutes and ask her about her day and share something nice from your day or you can just share a joke. Just spend those few minutes only with her wholeheartedly and you may find a huge difference. You can also take her on a date whenever you get time even if it is just a simple dinner. Just spend the quality time with her making her realize that she is not just your wife, your children’s mother but also your lover and she will always be someone special in your life with whom you would love to spend the lovely moments and make wonderful memories.

Lack of Communication: Lack of communication is the foremost reason of distance in any relationship. Share your troubles, your ambitions, your desires and expectations and open your heart to your loved one. Communication is not just sharing. Listen to your partner and the main thing is to listen without any judgement and with open mind. Listen to her fears, the challenges she is facing in the new life, the things that are hurting her and console her. Do not be judgmental or think of this as an complaint and respond angrily but understand her point of view and offer your advice or find a middle ground acceptable to both of you. If you react harshly when she is sharing the difficulties with you it will create a wedge between you and she will close herself emotionally which will lead to more frustration and irritation in her behavior.

Disrespect : Sometimes we disrespect our partner unintentionally. Remember to never trample on self-respect of your partner. Making snide comments on her looks, cooking, anger issues or any other thing even jokingly can hurt her deeply. We may think of it as a joke but look at your partner’s reaction. If she is uncomfortable then it is better to not joke about these things related to her self worth. Also sometimes we let our family members disrespect our partners in the hope of maintaining the peace in the family but it could make your partner resentful not only towards the said family member but also towards you. Always defend the dignity and respect of your partner politely.

Help your partner: In your hectic life busy with your job you often forget that your partner is also equally tired both physically and emotionally. Try to help her in small tasks. If it is not possible for your to help in working days just help her in your weekends or holidays. Sometimes offer to take care of the kids or family so that she can have some me time occasionally. Let her enjoy the me time however she wants and let her be refreshed both physically and mentally.

Read the reasons carefully and see if any of these unintentional mistakes has turned your smiling girl into a angry women. Let me know in the comments. And my dear lovely ladies if you feel any reason is missing please mention in the comments so that your issues can be known and the mystery around the women be solved.

Things we can learn from our Toddlers

Our little munchkins are a bundle of energy who light up our lives with their bright and innocent smiles. Parents are said to be the first teachers of their babies and we believe that our toddlers have so much to learn from us. This is true but do you know that there are various things our toddlers can teach us if we keep an open mind. Here are some of those things :

Laughing Freely: Toddlers have that beautiful, infectious laughs that lifts even the most sorrowful souls. The reason being that they laugh freely on smallest and simplest things. They find joy in the most mundane things and their laugh is always heartfelt.  They do not need a very big reason or another person to laugh they can laugh on the silliest things. You can find them laughing after they fall or when they drop their food trying to eat, when they try to catch the flies, anything can tickle their tiny bones. We should learn to enjoy and laugh from these cuties.

Hard Work: You will never find a toddler sitting idle. They try to do everything they see you doing and try to grasp every tiny detail from this world. They are very curious and eager to learn everything without thinking about the difficulty level of the task. You will see them trying to do  the same thing again and again until they learn to master it and then proceed to learn the other things. It’s inspiring to see them to try to walk even after they fall umpteen times. They do not have the tendency to give up and it is definitely the trait worth learning.

Love: It is said that the purest form of love existing is that of a mother. But i believe that the purest form of love is that of a child. You may find yourself shouting at your sunshines even sometimes due to no fault of theirs but you would still find them seeking comfort in you only. Even when they find your voice disturbing to them they try to hug you to feel your warmth. They laugh when they see you laughing and become sad when they see you crying, their eyes are full of love and they run to hug you even if you were gone only for 15 minutes. Their eyes search for you as soon as they wake up and they make you feel that you are their whole world. Not only for their family members but they show love for complete strangers too. You would find them readily sharing their things with others, smiling when others smile and wave to them. Loving comes naturally to them and their love is without expectations and pure to the core.

Trusting : Toddlers are the most trusting souls. They trust that when you throw them in the air you will definitely catch them and they enjoy the moment . They trust that when they are trying to learn you are there to hold them, catch them when needed and guide them in the correct direction.

Be Forgiving: You will find that toddlers forgive very easily. That is why you will see them fighting with other munchkins in one minute and then playing with them the next minute. They may seem angry and refuse to come to you when you scold them but within a few seconds they will hound you to pick them up. They do not hold on to the negative feelings. If we could learn this from them then our lives will be so much easier.

Living in the moment: Toddlers live in the moment. They may get hurt and cry themselves to sleep. You expect them to cry once they wake up over the wound but you will see that they had forgotten all about it and are running and doing the exactly the same thing that hurt them. You would find that frustrating at times but this living in the moment is what allows them to enjoy without being afraid. We on the other hand are so afraid and obsessed by the past that we refuse to enjoy our lives to the fullest.

So what did your kiddo teach you today?

Mysteries of 8 Indian Temples

It is in the temple that we remember who we really are and see with clarity who we really can become- Jean A. Stevens.

Temples allow us to experience the serene environment and bring us closer to God as being in temple aids us in concentrating on God leaving all the other things outside the walls of the temple. Atheists find it difficult to acknowledge the existence of God and find the answer in science. But do you know there are many temples in India whose mystery has not been unraveled by Science? It can be said that they are the miracles that would leave even the Atheists in awe:

  • Jwala Devi Temple: Jwala Devi temple is located in Kanpur. This temple does not have any statue or idol but has  ever burning jyotis or flames throughout the temple. These jyotis are constantly burning without any source or help.  Many people, geologists and scientists have tried to locate the source of the jyotis to no avail. The Mughal Emperor tried to distinguish the flame by putting iron disc over it and also by throwing water continuously on the flames but his efforts went in vain. He then acknowledged the miracle and presented a golden parasol to the Goddess.

  • Manikaran Shiva Temple: This temple of Lord Shiva is situated in Manikaran, Himachal Pradesh. The visitors get to see the wonder of nature here as on one side there is very cold water of Parvati River and on the other side there is a spring which has boiling hot water. Bathing in this holy water is said to cure many ailments of the devotees. Moreover the water does not contain any sulfur and devotees cook rice and food in this hot water which is considered to be very sacred. Even scientists are unable to find the reason behind the hot water of this spring.

  • Nidhivan Temple: Nidhivan Temple, Vrindavan is one of the most mysterious temples of India. The major part of the temple is covered by forest. The mysterious thing about these trees is that these holy basil tress are completely hollow and no one waters them anytime yet they remain green forever. Moreover no insects or bird nests are found on these trees. It is said that these trees convert into ‘’Gopis’’ at night and Lord Krishna comes here to perform raas leela every night. No one goes to the forest after 7 pm as it is believed that the person who tries to see anything in the forest at night becomes blind, deaf or dumb or dies in some cases. However, to check the claim many people have tied the basil trees with cloth but no piece of cloth is found on trees next morning. Moreover many holes are found on the ground which suggests that the trees shift their position. Some people may not believe in this legend but it is still hard to explain the evergreen trees entwined with each other.

  • Jagannath Temple, Odisha : Jagannath temple is dedicated to Lord Jagannath, the avatar of Lord Vishnu and is one of the Chaar Dhams of Hindus. It’s grand annual Rath Yatra Festival is very popular among the devotees. This temple not only amazes the people with its beauty but also baffles them with its various mysteries. The temple does not cast any shadow from any angle at any time of the day. Miraculously the flag on the top of the temple floats in the opposite side of the wind and needs to be changed daily. Moreover the Sudarshana Chakra in this temple can be seen from every nook and corner of the Puri city and always seems to be facing you even if it’s seen from various angles. The prasaad in the temple is cooked in 7 earthen pots on firewood that are stacked on one another. The peculiar thing about this is that the food in the top most pot is cooked first instead of the bottom one and the food is always in appropriate quantity for the devotees neither less nor more. Moreover no bird or airplane flies over this temple.Amazing Right?

  • Musical Temples: Music itself is the wonder of the world and when the source of this music is the nature, then it would definitely be the greatest wonder. The stairs of Airavatesvara Temple, abode of Lord Shiva in Tamil Nadu, produces the sounds of Seven Swaras when tapped at different locations.

Similarly the 56 pillars or Ranga Mantapa of Sri Vijaya Vittala temple dedicated to Lord Vithala and located in Karnataka, emits  the musical notes in form of western do ri me sa when tapped. This music produced by nature is soothing to the core and amazes  the devotees.

  • Lord Jagannath temple, Kanpur: This temple of Lord Jagannath predicts the pattern of Monsoon. If the water droplets collected on the roof top are big then the rainfall will be good and if the droplets are small then there will be the drought. The monsoon prediction is always accurate and prediction is done at least 15 days before and the farmers plan the crop accordingly. This is an unexplained phenomenon which astonishes the Scientists.

  • Nachiyar Kovil Temple: This is the temple of Goddess Nachiyar and God Srinivasa. This temple has the stone statue of Eagle revered as Kal Garuda. This statue is taken out during the procession. The amazing thing regarding this is that the weight of this statue keeps on increasing as the statue is taken away from its shrine. Initially only 4 men carry out the statue and then later approx. 32 men are required to carry the same.

  • Hasanamba Temple : This temple of Goddess Shakti is located in Karnataka. It is opened only once in a year, exactly on the first Thursday after the full moon in the Ashwayuja month (according to Hindu Calendar) and remains open for 10 days during the Deepawali festival. During the Deepawali the Goddess Shakti is worshipped by lighting lamps, offering flowers and prasaad. The thing that awes the people is that when the doors are opened after 1 year all the flowers, lamps, prasaad etc. used for worshipping last year remains intact. There is also a mystical stone which inches towards the feet of the Goddess every year. It is believed that the Kali Yug will end once the stone reaches the feet of the Goddess.

The mysteries of these beautiful temples force even the non-believers to bow to the wonder of the Lord or Nature. Did you find these intriguing and would you like to see the wonders yourself , let me know in the comments.

Don’t Quit – Edgar A. Guest

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,

When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow.

You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor’s cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out,

The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit.

It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Parenting is Fun – Part I

Being parents is a blessing and the most wonderful experience when could ever get. It is also the biggest responsibility which can sometimes overwhelm you especially in this pandemic times. But remember parenting is  fun too. Still not sure how? Read On to enjoy the hilarious experiences of fellow parents :

Thank God !!:

My great-nephew is five years old and loves sports, yet he was amazed when he visited his friend’s house and realized they were hunters. There he saw antlers, mounted deer heads, and shotguns. He came home all excited. “Mom, for Christmas I want a bow and arrow or a gun!” he said. “I’m sorry, buddy,” his mom replied, “but we’re just not hunting people.” “Oh, I don’t want to hunt people, Mom,” he said. “I want to hunt animals.” William Livers

I didn’t know lying to kids could be so dangerous.

From Reddit user u/D*ckyBurd:

My sister baked some cookies to share at work, and when her 3 year old daughter seen them on the plate on the counter she asked for one. Instead of explaining she wasn’t allowed to have one, my sister lied and said they were “yucky,” implying it was a bad batch.

My sister, confident that her lie was successful turned her back to finish cleaning up. She heard the plate being removed from the counter and turned around just in time to see all the cookies slide off the plate into the garbage.

Her daughter smiled and just said “yucky.”

Priorities :

After moving to the country, my three-year-old daughter and I were often alone in our house. Because we lived in a rural area with no close neighbors, I wanted to make sure my daughter would be able to call 911 in the event that something happened to me. After instructing her, I decided to test her: “OK, what would you do if you found me on the floor and you couldn’t wake me up?” I could see her little brain working. To my surprise she finally said, “I would go into the kitchen and eat anything I want.” Laura Albrecht

The best Secret Keeper :

After having a brand-new car for one day, I came home from Black Friday shopping with a fender bender. I told my three-year-old granddaughter, Landree, not to tell Papa or he’d be upset. Pretty soon, here comes Papa and he looked in the garage. Not saying anything, he went back downstairs to his man cave. I asked Landree if she had told Papa. She emphatically said, “No, I didn’t Gigi!” I said, “Well, what did you tell him?” She said, “I told him three times, ‘whatever you do, do NOT look in the garage!’” Dianne Kreick

I too love puppies :

After I had our second child, I was anxious to get home from the hospital to show my five-year-old daughter her new sister. When I got out of our car, I asked my daughter what she thought of her new sister. She looked a little disgusted and replied, “I told you that I wanted a puppy!” Pam Vogel

Queen and ” Servant”  a fairy tail:

When one of our grandsons was about eight years old, he announced at a family gathering that I treat my wife like a queen. Hmm. I puffed myself up and asked him a question, expecting that the answer would give me similar stature. “Since I treat her like a queen, what does that make me?” His immediate response? “A servant.” So much for my ego. Jim

Hence Proved:

I was showing my daughter this old “pull my thumb off and put it together again” trick.

— Daddy, how do you do it?

— Just look closely! Now I’m pulling it right off…Ta-dah! It’s back!

— But it’s just impossible to pull off your thumb like that!

— Is it? Take a look! I’m pulling it off…

— Stop! Now, give it to me!

Valid Point:

The other day when we were in the car, my 5 year old says to me “mom you know how you tell me I can’t say dum, I said yes, he told me “there is dum in my name, Adam”  – u/MayaAdam

Clap Clap Clap:

I was in the store with my recently potty-trained 2-year-old when she told me she needed to go potty, so we ran to the bathroom. She started doing her business as someone took the stall beside us. She asked if that lady was going potty too, and I told her she was. When the lady finished up, my daughter started clapping and shouted, ‘You went potty all by yourself! Good job, lady!'” —d49f75e598

And Sorted to Gryffindor :
My 4 year old daughter has been fascinated by bridges lately. We were walking across one and just to see what she would say, I asked “are you going to be a civil engineer?” She replied “NO! I’m gonna be a witch!”. -u/ Mirandacake
